Our cottages have been built with your comfort in mind, with high-quality finishes throughout, luxurious soft furnishings and those extra little touches that make such a difference. Choose from one of the following three cottages:
Fyffe or Uwerau cottage
Whether you are celebrating a special occasion, a romantic break or exploring all the region has to offer, our superior cottages have been designed with your comfort in mind. Not one but two private decks with spectacular views, an open-plan living area, a king-sized bedroom, a decadent bathroom, and a fully functional kitchen - all fitted with modern features and furnishings.
Manakau cottage
The Manakau features the same attention to detail, stunning vistas and comfort as the other two cottages but on a slightly bigger scale, including a super-king sized bed to enjoy, which can be altered to become twin beds on request.

Too hot? The heat pump/air conditioner will quickly cool the room down for you or open the bi-folding doors to let the ocean breeze in and do it naturally. Too cold? Raise the temperature quickly with a choice of warmth – heat pump/air conditioner or gas fire. Either will make you feel cosy in no time.

Directions to Property
Glenburn Coastal Retreat is a 10-minute drive north of Kaikoura on the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The easiest way to find us is to turn off State Highway One down Skevingtons Road towards the sea. When you get to the end of this short road, turn left. We are 400 metres along this road on the left.
Additional Information
Our accommodation is self-check-in and check-out; your key will be in the door on your arrival, and we ask that you leave it there on departure. Property and apartment information are inside your rooms, but we are only a phone call away if you require assistance.
All cottages also include:
- Underfloor heating in the bathroom.
- Complimentary products for pampering. Bathrobes and slippers.
- Iron and Ironing board.
- Nespresso coffee machine and plunger.
- Gas top cooker.
- Electric blind in the bedroom – no need to get out of bed to watch the sunrise.
- Views of dolphins passing by* – depending on what the marine life feels like doing that day and not guaranteed but usually occurs.
- A short walk to the coast.

Children and Pets
We are sorry, but our cottages and working farm surroundings are not equipped to handle the hustle and bustle of children and pets. We are a retreat for adults wanting to escape from their reality, not bring it with them.

Cancellation Policy
